❏ Abstract :

    - How to Understand Global Financial Crisis

The global financial crisis that started in the US in 2007 gave an opportunity for economists to reexamine the way they think about financial crisis. The crisis was the first truly global one in that it started at the center of the world economy and spread and affected the whole world. In 2011, it is still ongoing with the threat of sovereign default in Europe, the possibility of the disintegration of the European monetary union, high unemployment in the US and elsewhere.

In this presentation, I would like to share some thoughts in progress. The core idea is that macro-financial crisis can be viewed as bankruptcy in the macro scale. Bankruptcy occurs when existing contractual relations become unsustainable. Thus resolution of crisis requires restructuring contracts. At the macro level, this is a political process. Practical implications of normative solutions in the bargaining and bankruptcy literature need to be investigated. Institutions that are built to ensure financial stability such as central banking, deposit insurance and financial regulations can be looked at from this new point of view. In particular, discussions on financial reform should be guided by certain principles that are consistent with macro bankruptcy resolution.

기후변화대응의 주요 방안은 현재 탄소배출량 감축으로 귀결되고 있는 가운데, 이를위한 정책적, 기술적 방법 이외에 도시민의 라이프스타일 변화 유도를 통한 탄소배출량 감축방안 및 한계점을 소개하며, 인프라구축을 위한 인지적 라이프스타일 디자인 방법론을 논의한다.

 

    - How to manage evacuation during large-scale disaster

홍수, 산사태나 대형화재등의 재난시 발생하는 가장 큰 어려움 중에 하나인 대피전략에 대해, 교통시스템적인 관점에서 이론적 접근 및 모델링, 시뮬레이션기법 등을 소개하고 국내 적용방안을 논의한다

 

    - Issues for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure

인프라스트럭쳐 측면에서 지속가능성과 인프라의 Resilience에 대한 여러 이슈들과 앞으로의 연구 방향에 대해 논의한다.
