기관/부서 소개

KAIST 건설 및 환경공학과는 도로, 교량, 댐, 항만, 주거시설, 발전소, 터널 및 지하공간, 상하수처리시설, 산업폐수 및 폐기물 처리시설 등과 같은 사회기반시설물들의 계획, 설계, 시공 및 유지관리에 필요한 이론과 기술을 연구개발해 왔으며 구조공학, 지반공학 및 환경공학 분야서 각 연구실 별로 연구를 진행하고 있을 뿐 아니라 분산공유형 지오센트리퓨지센터, 건설기술연구센터, 환경기술연구센터 및 스마트 사회기반시설 연구센터 등을 통한 국내/외 학계 및 연구계를 주도하는 공동연구를 수행하고 있다. 특히, 분산공유형 지오센트리퓨지센터는 반경 5m의 센트리퓨지 본체(240g-tons capacity), Biaxial Shaking Table, 4 DoF In-Flight Robot 등의 최첨단 시설을 보유하고 있다.

Faculty Position in Civil and Environmental Engineering at KAIST

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in the area of Geotechnical Engineering: one position in Geocentrifuge Modeling and the other position in Emerging Geotechnology. Appointment is sought primarily at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptionally qualified candidates will be considered for higher-level positions. Applicants should have an appropriate earned doctorate and have demonstrated potential for excellence in both teaching and research. The successful applicants will be expected to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and to develop and maintain a strong research program. Classes will be taught in English and strong English-language skills are required.

 

Salary is commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience and is competitive with other leading universities in the world. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, faculty housing, research start-up funds, and tuition-waived graduate students.
