Research Centers
The KAIST Institute for Urban Space and Systems (KIUSS)
KIUSS is one of the 8 KAIST institutes founded in 2007, aiming at finding innovative solution by integrating information technology, nano technology, bio technology and cultural technology in a human centered manner. The main focus is on the two mega-trends of world-wide urbanization process: informatization and ecological, economic and social sustainability.
Geotechnical Centrifuge Testing Center
As one of the 6 Research Testing Centers funded by the ministry of maritime affairs, Geotechnical Centrifuge Testing Center uses the centrifuge acceleration to consolidate stress condition of spherical shape, simulating the huge structures. The center was established on November, 2004.

Governmental Research Projects
Korea Urban Renaissance Center (KURC)
KAIST CEE is actively participating in environmental remediation technology of Urban Regeneration Agency that provides solution to changes in industry and new town, as well as urban expansion in economical, social and physical ways.
u-Eco City Project
Funded by Ministry of Land and Maritimes, u-Eco City Project offers public u-service, eco-friendly green technology, and unified platform for smart cities with convergence of construction and IT.
Super-Tall Building (STB)
As one of the Value Creator (VC) 10 project funded by Ministry of maritime affairs, super-skyscraper project aims for creation of sustainable vertical space through development of technology in high-rise complexes. KAIST CEE develops high-performance materials and high-technology construction field.

International Collaborative Organization & Institutes
ANCRiSST (Asia-Pacific Network of Centers for Research in Smart Structures Technology)
This is the Center-Based Cooperation in Advanced Smart Materials and Smart Structures Technology in Asian-Pacific Region.
KKCNN Symposium on Civil Engineering (since 1988)
This is the annual meeting to exchange academic achievements and technological developments in the field of civil engineering among Kyoto University (KU), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), National Taiwan University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Chulalongkorn University (CU).
Tongji University
Tongji University is one of the leading universities directly under the State Ministry of Education in China. KAIST CEE Department has close ties with Tongji College of Civil Engineering.
